New Italian Migration
Due to the huge growth of new Italian immigrants to Scotland, who often arrive with no knowledge of the local social, cultural and business context, and to respond to the many requests (both general and employment-related) received, the Scottish Branch of the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the UK has decided to launch “The Edinburgh Compass”.

The Project is presented as an initial “survival kit” for Italians intending to move, or already living in Scotland. It will operate by providing important information for new arrivals. The project aims to be an interactive platform through which these new migrants will learn to engage with greater knowledge and effectiveness in day-to-day life in Scotland .

Monthly seminars of 2 hours will be run for a maximum of 10/15 people at a time. During the seminars “The Edinburgh Compass” will present the following topics:

Short guide about the ICCIUK;
The network of Italian representatives in Scotland;
First steps in Edinburgh (geography of the city and public transport);
How to find a house;
How to find a job;
Taxation in UK;
Medicine and Health;
Do’s & Don’ts.

The cost of the seminar is £25 (VAT incl.) per person.

A causa della imponente crescita degli immigrati Italiani in Scozia, che spesso arrivano senza conoscenza del contesto locale di società, cultura e business, e rispondendo alle molte richieste ricevute (entrambe correlate al generico e all’impiegatizio), il ramo scozzese della Camera di Commercio e Industria Italiana per il Regno Unito ha deciso di lanciare “The Edinburgh Compass”.

Il progetto è presentato come un iniziale “kit di sopravvivenza” per Italiani che intendono spostarsi o già risiedono in Scozia. Opererà approvvigionando importanti informazioni per i nuovi arrivati. Il progetto ambisce ad essere una piattaforma interattiva attraverso la quale questi nuovi emigranti impareranno ad impegnarsi con una maggior conoscenza ed efficacia nella vita di tutti i giorni in Scozia.

Seminari mensili di 2 ore partiranno per un massimo di 10/15 persone alla volta. Durante i seminari “The Edinburgh Compass” presenterà i seguenti argomenti:
